Job Description

SUMMARY

The Operations Manager’s role is to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective execution of the production plan in the Sebastopol production facility. The Operations Manager is directly responsible for all production and warehouse employees in the Sebastopol facility. They will ensure development of a high performing leadership team capable of improving operations every day.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that warehouse inventories are accurate and supported by effective transactional management and that warehousing space is used efficiently and in a manner that supports safe and productive activities.
  • Actively participate in the overall employee experience of all operations team members (which includes hiring, performance management, employee coaching, conflict resolution, compensation, and career pathing).
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities listed above.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards and programs, including supporting for audits and any other regulatory activities
  • Understand and support the organization’s purpose, vision and core values; frequently refer to them and incorporate it into daily activities.
  • Drive a plant-wide regular review cadence of key performance indicators with a focus on continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Execute, monitor and adjust the weekly production schedule for all production and warehousing areas to assure delivery of production targets. Work cross-functionally with planning, procurement, quality, and maintenance to assure clear prioritization and organizational alignment.
  • Ensure safety of all team members and contractors working within department. This includes supporting all company-wide safety programs; developing SOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules.
  • Manage, lead, and develop a supervisory team, implementing best practices and continuous improvement to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Manage production department budget and participate in forecasting activities.


SUPERVISORY/BUDGET

  • Directly manage a team of seven (including five production supervisors, an operations training specialist, and an inventory control technician)



REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience implementing new processes and implementing best practices.
  • 3 years of manufacturing leadership in a Food or Dietary supplement plant.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • 5 years of experience in Food or Dietary supplement manufacturing.


Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the relevant field. food / supplement / pharmaceutical industry.

Compensation range is $105,800 - $138,915, plus an annual percentage bonus.


Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.
