Operations Manager - Industrial Construction


LVI are looking for an Operations Manager to join our client who is a General Contractor based out of Fort Lauderdale.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team as a key member of our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. As an Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in managing field operations, overseeing project execution, and supporting preconstruction efforts. Your expertise in commercial and industrial construction, coupled with your leadership abilities, will contribute to the success of our projects and the growth of our organization.


Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management: Lead and manage field operations, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  2. Preconstruction Support: Collaborate with the preconstruction team to review project plans, specifications, and cost estimates, providing valuable insights and recommendations to optimize project success.
  3. Project Execution: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, monitoring progress, coordinating resources, and implementing strategies to achieve project objectives.
  4. Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to field staff, including project managers, superintendents, and other construction professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  5. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, managing expectations, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution, develop mitigation strategies, and implement effective solutions to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
  7. Subcontractor and Vendor Management: Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials, negotiating contracts and managing relationships to enhance project outcomes.
  8. Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control measures, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Cost and Budget Management: Monitor project costs, review financial reports, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize project profitability.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and drive operational excellence throughout the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously, from preconstruction to completion.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction, with a focus on field operations management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire field staff.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for project-related meetings and site visits.
