Job Description

Summary

The Off-Shore Business Development Manager is a key member of the North American Marine Business Development team focusing on Off-shore wind, Oil & Gas, and the Ferry markets. Ideally, this position is in/or around the Gulf Coast and will require travel as needed. Teleworking arrangement is an option for the ideal candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the overall strategic planning and linking pursuits/capture activities which support the business development metrics.
  • Make regular visits to the Gulf of Mexico shipyards and Naval architects to develop working relationships and promote GE system solutions and products.
  • Brief business development status to senior management
  • Travel as required, based on negotiated work location.
  • Perform market research to qualify new business opportunities including analysis of customer budgets, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Manage, sustain, and grow a pipeline of opportunities. Proactively identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute call plans. Provide detailed reports on follow up activities after plan execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as Leader in a Business Development or Sales function
  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited university/college required, with a concentration in engineering or a technical discipline preferred OR

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven ability to build business cases when investments are needed to pursue an opportunity.
  • Familiar with Market dynamics in the North American Off-shore wind, Oil & Gas and Ferry markets
  • Must have a reputation for being able to work collaboratively with high performance teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven technical leadership track record with significant customer exposure at executive level in similar environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust internally with support functions & externally with our top customers.
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of designing and executing successful Business Development and Capture strategies and achieving profitable revenue growth.
