- Take classroom notes and coordinate notetakers and scan and organize classroom notes
- Tag and edit the text in Word and PDF for students to access using assistive technology.
- Scribe/read for students during testing or lectures
- Assist students during assigned classroom coursework
- Proctor tests for accommodated exams/tests
- Move and adjust adaptive furniture
2. Clerical Duties:
- Scan documents and enter data, and maintain electronic and paper files and records
- Photocopy and collate files.
- Perform a variety of routine assignments as appropriate to the position; may operate a computer to draft basic correspondence, and print letters, labels, reports, and/or other materials; types and mails form letters.
- Perform routine checks of office areas and keep all areas organized.
3. Customer Service:
- Schedule appointments, meetings, workshops/conferences appropriate to the position
- Receive, greet, and refer visitors
- Answer and route phone calls following established guidelines, and take messages, as needed
4. Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain both electronic and hardcopy records
- Working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Word processing and data entry skills
- Comfortable working directly with students with disabilities and students with a wide variety of backgrounds
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow clearly established policies and procedures
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity
- Experience in customer service or direct client support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of laws pertaining to students with disabilities
- Higher education disability office support experience
- Clerical experience
