Nutrition Care Associate (Diet Office) - Full-Time - Abington

Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Nutrition Services Diet Office Clerk is to coordinate and communicate all information pertinent to patient meal service.

• Maintains sufficient supplies of menus and forms in office at all times
• Processes nutrition orders and tray tickets with 100% accuracy to ensure accurate and up to date nutritional needs are provided.
• Calls patients to inform them of menu changes whenever able
• Is expected to clean and sanitize workstations, counters and other equipment.
• Provides direction and education to Hosts, Hostesses, and tray line staff
• Maintains exceptional communication with hospital staff, patients and department staff to ensure current nutritional requirements are maintained
• Cross-references and manually enters patient’s diet allergies
• Maintains confidential patient information to ensure compliance to HIPAA laws.
• Participates in and attends all department in-services to maintain department operating standards
• Multitasks in the diet office to ensure meal service is efficient and running on time
• Once trained, is proficient in CBORD Food Service Suite nutrition software and processes nutrition orders and tray tickets with 100% accuracy
• Manually enters menu selections for patients with multiple diet restrictions
• Reports defective or malfunctioning equipment immediately to department management

Qualifications
Previous nutritional office experience preferred, but not required.
H.S. graduate or equivalent required. Prefer graduate of one-two year nutrition program.
Prefer Dietetic Assistant Certification or Dietetic Technician Certification or Certified Dietary Manager.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to read and write English. Must be able to establish goals and follow through with it. Must have the ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to handle multiple assignments.
Conditions of Employment
