As a Nursing Full-Tine Tenure Track Faculty, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that is committed to creating a learning environment that is accessible, diverse, responsive, and innovative.
Primary teaching responsibilities include providing didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. This position reports to and is supervised by the Dean of Nursing. Nursing courses may be taught at any of the Seattle Colleges District campuses within the Seattle area.
The purpose of Seattle Colleges District Nursing Associate Degree Nursing Program is to provide quality education for a diverse group of students from a variety of backgrounds and circumstance. The program is based upon the faculty's belief that graduates of an Associate Degree Nursing Program are prepared as generalists for entry-level practice as Registered Nurses in Washington State's diverse healthcare settings.
Graduates of Seattle Colleges District Nursing Associate Degree Nursing Program are prepared to demonstrate the National League for Nursing (NLN) Core Competencies and Roles of the Associate Degree Nurse (2010). The roles of the ADN nurse include human flourishing, nursing judgment, professional identity, and spirit of inquiry. The NLN Core Competencies include professional behavior, communication, assessment, clinical decision making, caring interventions, collaboration, and managing care. The Core Competencies and Roles serve as a foundation for the terminal objectives of the program.

What you will be working on:
  • Meet all professional obligations and all other provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Teach Associate Degree Nursing and Bachelor of Science Nursing didactic, laboratory skills, and clinical courses.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member with the Dean of Nursing, other nursing program faculty and staff, and division, college and district faculty and staff.
  • Document student skills/learning and submit required documents and grades.
  • Be actively involved in major college and district committees and initiatives.
  • Be actively involved in continuous program improvement with nursing program faculty and staff, meeting all accreditation (ACEN and CCNE), NCQAC, college, and district requirements.
  • Continuously improve nursing and teaching knowledge and skills; take advantage of professional development opportunities.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
  • Minimum three years of experience in nursing.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing with a current Washington State RN License

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs.
