With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located with the Department of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. Position will be based at the Newberry MHC but may also provide services throughout the Center's catchment area.
Under limited supervision, performs responsibilities for the psychiatric and medical treatment of patients of the Beckman Mental Health Center. Interviews, examines, diagnoses and treats mental disorders of patients. Performs professional duties requiring analysis of a broad spectrum of problems and the planning of various interrelated activities within the facility. Performs consultations to other clinical professional staff members, assists with staff training, and acts as a community liaison.
Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the master's level or doctoral level acceptable to the Board to include clinical experience.
Special/Additional Requirements: Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the SC Board of Nursing with prescriptive authority. Five (5) years experience with psychiatric patients.
