Job Description
Originally founded in 1991 as Harlem RBI, DREAM has grown to annually serve more than 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx through a network of six PreK-12, extended-day, extended-year DREAM Charter Schools and community sports-based youth development programs. The Network Director of OST & Athletics will be responsible for creating and driving the Grow-the-Whole Child Model to drive exceptional outcomes for students, families, and staff. The Managing Director of SEL and Out-of-School Time reports directly to the Managing Director of SEL & Out-of-School Time Programs and works closely with the other members of the Management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide positive, collaborative leadership and participate in collegial problem-solving in a variety of situations and departments
  • Train, review and provide feedback to OST and Athletic Directors on OST/Athletic program procedures and protocols (including late/early pick up, transition to program, dismissal, transitions, snack, bathroom, hallway procedures, athletics spectator policy, injury protocols etc.)
  • Create Recommendation OST PT staffing structure (afterschool, summer)
  • Set and manage OST program budgets, procurement processes
  • Professional Development
  • Train, review and provide feedback to OST and Athletic Directors on OST/Athletic program procedures and protocols (including late/early pick up, transition to program, dismissal, transitions, snack, bathroom, hallway procedures, athletics spectator policy, injury protocols etc.)
  • Manage and support network OADs in meeting annual program goals

  • Drive strategy for network recruitment and outreach plans to meet afterschool and summer enrollment targets by leveraging DREAM’s extended-day, extended-year value proposition
  • Design and uphold OST and athletic program structures and routines aligned with network vision
  • Effective Teaming:
  • Design and uphold OST and athletic program structures and routines aligned with network vision
  • Effectively manager network OST and Athletic; including Senior Manager of Athletics and Senior Manager of OST Programs meeting annual program goals
  • Drive strategy for network recruitment and outreach plans to meet afterschool and summer enrollment targets by leveraging DREAM’s extended-day, extended-year value proposition
  • Cultivate and manage summer community partnerships
  • Program Quality and Curriculum:
  • Lead Program Quality Observation Cycle to maximize impact of programming and ensure outcomes are met
  • Support creation of curriculum management system to ensure network-wide alignment and curriculum fidelity in OST
  • Drive network strategy for Part-Time staff engagement and retention
  • Establish, train, and ensure adherence to Network Part-Time Staff systems and protocols; including clearance protocols and Part-Time staff attendance
  • Establish and uphold OST attendance protocols to ensure all OST attendance metrics are met across the network
  • Serve as Liaison to Talent on all hiring/selection processes for PT staff

Qualifications:

  • Supervisory and leadership development experience, collaborating with school leaders, instructional staff, teachers and Part-time staff
  • Expert knowledge, understanding and experience in developing curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development systems
  • A strong analytic, performance management, accountability, and systems-thinking orientation necessary to inform strategy development and execution
  • Extensive leadership experience with a record of achievement in SEL and Health and Wellness outcomes for all children. School leadership experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of best practices in positive youth development and childhood development
  • Bachelor’s degree, required; Masters Degree in Education and/or School Administration, preferred

Compensation:

  • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience with the potential for an annual performance-based increase. The incoming salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases. Because we value staff tenure in each role, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
