Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group division located in Urbandale, IA, you will:
- Engage in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives and hackathons.
- Assist in the technical design, development, and testing of software for activation and tool solutions.
- Ability to provide on-call support as needed.
- Analyze medium to high complexity requests to help in formulating plans for execution with minimal supervision.
- Establish a culture of software crafting best practices including Test Automation, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment.

What Skills You Need
- 2 or more years experience working on a team developing software leveraging Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience that demonstrates you are a self-starter, and able to work well without close direction.
- Demonstrated capability performing in an engineering team environment and interfacing with engineers and personnel of other disciplines.
- 1 or more year of experience in developing cloud native serverless technologies in AWS using API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Cloudfront, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, IAM, Cloudwatch, Route53, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of TDD, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, and Agile methodologies.
- 2 or more years experience with Node JS, JavaScript, or C++.
What Makes You Stand Out
- UI frameworks experience.
- Strong leadership skills and takes initiative to proactively solve issues.
- Experience in Embedded Software Development.
- Strong working experience of AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.) and understanding of infrastructure as code using terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience working with resources from multiple functional areas.
Education Details
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Science or Technology related discipline.
