Job Description
NationSwell Fellows brings together a diverse cohort of young leaders for a catalytic 1-year fellowship experience. We aim to equip these changemakers with the resources, tools, and networking they need to translate their passion into effective community-focused, intersectional solutions. Through an equitable approach, the NationSwell Fellows program empowers participants to stand at the center of driving change for their communities.


NationSwell is seeking a part-time NationSwell Fellows Community Lead within the NationSwell Studio to support the NationSwell Fellows Program. We are looking for someone with experience building and facilitating communities for young people (eg., Youth movement leaders, College club representatives). This person must leverage their passion for community building and social impact and have an eye for driving progress and detail. They should have a passion for working in a mission-driven field, and a curious, proactive spirit is a must.


This is a part-time opportunity. Compensation for this role is $30/hr.


This person will support the team in the following ways:


  • Managing communications with the fellows
  • Manage feedback loops from the cohort, facilitating programming, and providing support across communication channels
  • Collaborating and project managing the design of relevant programming and experiences
  • Manage and coordinate fellows and potential speakers with the support of other NationSwell Staff.
  • Continue working with the team for ongoing program communications + coordinating the team, sponsors, guest speakers, and the Fellows' calendar
  • Build Fellows resources (online handbook, submissions and attendance tracker, onboarding survey)
  • Assist in identifying the most relevant themes and topics for program events (workshops, panels, case studies, etc), planning the event (research, reaching out to guest speakers or panelists), and building out the necessary resources (decks, pre-reads).
  • Work with the program PM to coordinate the team, sponsors, guest speakers, and Fellows' calendars to set up the meetings
  • Manage online slack platform
  • Help facilitate the program events, meetings, and mixers
  • Phase II: Oct-Dec (est 20 hours/week)
  • Participate in the application process (screening applications, setting up interviews, conducting interviews)
  • Provide support and assistance to the fellows + manage ongoing fellows comms (hosting office hours, encouraging open lines of communication, fielding questions and concerns, designing and sending check-in surveys, etc)
  • Phase I: Aug - Sept (est 20 hours/week)
  • Provide support and assistance to the fellows + ongoing fellows comms (hosting office hours, encouraging open lines of communication, fielding questions and concerns, designing and sending check-in surveys, etc)
  • Phase III: Jan - June (est 10-15 hours/week)
  • Program wrap-up: building records and output with fellow testimonials, analyzing check-in survey data, follow-ups with all the fellows and mentors
  • Manage online slack platform
  • Continue facilitating the program events, meetings, and mixers
  • Assist team in Summit coordination and any additional programming
