Job Title: Music Management Coordinator
A little bit about our team:
Warner Chappell Production Music (WCPM) is a worldwide leader within the production and custom music industry with over 35 years of experience and success. Owned by legendary music publisher Warner Chappell Music and part of the Warner Music Group family, WCPM releases over 350 new albums each year (bi-weekly) spanning every genre imaginable. In total, WCPM represents 130,000+ unique tracks spanning pop, orchestral, country, hip hop, indie, indigenous and archival genres.
In addition to its catalog, WCPM produces custom music for TV, film, advertising, documentaries, promos and trailers, having composed works for Justice League, Wonder Woman, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Suicide Squad, various projects for ESPN, Disney, ABC, Fox, NBC and Netlifx to name a few. WCPM is the leading provider for music to local news stations across the U.S. and the recipient of many awards including Emmys, Tellys, Addys and Promax awards.
Your role:
As part of our robust post-production team, this position is integral to ensuring a high level of consistency for our bi-monthly album releases. This includes overseeing quality control of the metadata for both new releases and all of the catalog’s 190,000+ discreet music titles as needed. You will ensure our taxonomy remains up to date and comprehensive and that our music is tagged correctly and consistently. This position is located in Los Angeles and reports directly to the Head of Production. Primary responsibilities include providing QC and metadata continuity for the 90+ WCPM catalogs including both wholly-owned and 3rd party catalogs, coordinating the updating of metadata for WCPM’s back-logged catalogs, acting as liaison for external metadata providers to maintain consistent workflow and working with in-house tech teams to enhance metadata protocol. You will also coordinate with asset management vendors and the in-house technical team for various batch processing initiatives and help provide research pertaining to new protocols and approaches. You will work closely with the production team to ensure timely release of albums including assisting with QC-ing audio as needed. And you will assist the marketing team with copywriting and distribution of marketing assets to affiliates worldwide.
If you have strong creative writing skills and excellent spelling and grammar, are detail-oriented, a self-starter and have familiarity with a wide expanse of musical genres, this position provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the production music industry.

Here you’ll get to:
  • Provide occasional administrative assistance to Head or Production including setting up meetings, travel, etc.
  • Assist Project Manager and tech team with various large-format initiatives involving batch corrections to back-logged catalog
  • Assist Project Manager in maintaining workflow and establishing/overseeing schedules with external metadata providers
  • Assist admin team with PRO and copyright research as needed
  • Collaborate with our tech team to improve the tools & processes related to our asset management & delivery systems
  • Provide QC for functional creative metadata (including Genre, Sub-Genre, Style, Mood, Tempo, Lead Instrumentation, Key, BPM, etc.) to all WCPM music assets worldwide to ensure users have excellent search results on our various sites
  • Assist Marketing Team with copywriting and distribution of marketing assets to partners worldwide
  • Create album and track titles as required
  • Provide ongoing research gleaned from user analytics, competitive market analysis and general industry and music trends to keep WCPM taxonomy relevant and current
  • Provide QC for administrative metadata (master ownership/administration, copyright ownership/administration, version, etc.) for all incoming WCPM production music assets worldwide
  • Assist production with audio QC as needed
  • Manage very high work volume and maintain high accuracy rate in data entry
  • Assist Music Creative team with the creation of various playlists in response to client search requests as needed
We’d love it if you also had:
  • Must be proficient with Excel and Box.com
  • Experience creating/understanding algorithms as they pertain to metadata
  • Must be trusted to handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information
  • Must have excellent spelling, grammar and creative writing skills
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with demonstrated experience in proofing
  • Must have extensive familiarity with a wide expanse of music genres
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and take responsibility/ownership of tasks
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must be resourceful and proactive in foreseeing general needs of the team

  • Must have demonstrated experience with creative and administrative metadata tagging
  • Must have knowledge of music business fundamentals including publishing and global PRO structure
  • Must be a team player with experience navigating sensitive dynamics when working with creative individuals including producers and composers
  • Must have basic understanding of music production, particularly post-production (mixing, mastering, audio prep, etc.)
  • Must have top-notch written and oral communication skills

Salary Range
Hourly Rate: $17.9487 to $28.2051 Hourly
Salary Ranges are included for all NY, California job postings and 100% remote roles where talent can be located. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
