Job Description

Mission and Summary

The Video Game Producer will play a critical role in overseeing the development and production of video game design, specifically for location-based themed entertainment experiences, such as theme parks, immersive attractions, and interactive installations.


The Video Game Producer will lead the end-to-end project management process, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and successful delivery of video game projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional project teams, including designers, artists and engineers to deliver exceptional video game content that enhances the overall guest experience.


Knowledge and Skills:

Lead creative efforts from concept to delivery

  • In depth knowledge of project process to be able to develop project strategies and scopes and schedules
  • Possesses solid aesthetic sensibilities and storytelling skills to support the creative process and to facilitate positive and productive communication between all disciplines
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of multitasking
  • Able to use / learn proprietary budget accounting systems: Deltek VantagePoint, etc.
  • Must be able to become very knowledgeable of the client’s brand and IP
  • Work in a team environment - be trustworthy, open and collaborative
  • Knowledge in location-based entertainment related architectural, project management, organizational, and production, fabrication and construction practices a plus
  • Able to use / learn Google Suite, particularly Sheets and Documents.
  • Possess a great attitude -demonstrate a perpetual willingness to jump in and assist with any problem
  • Able to create basic spreadsheet calculations.
  • Passion and strong drive to constantly learn, innovate, and help the company grow
  • Experience in related fields, such as live entertainment and event production and operation is a plus
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain an objective attitude toward problem-solving in difficult and/or complex situations by being proactive and solution-oriented
  • Ability to represent the project and the company in front of a client
  • In depth knowledge of project process to be able to work with Business and Project Development to help develop vendor RFPs, respond to RFIs, write contract scopes, and evaluate bids.
  • Able to use / learn scheduling software such as MicroSoft Project, Gantter, etc.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in video game development, themed entertainment, and related industries to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Share industry insights and propose new ideas to enhance the guest experience.
  • Technical Integration: Work closely with technical integrators to understand and communicate the requirements and constraints of integrating video games into themed entertainment environments, ensuring seamless integration of game content and technology.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a diverse team of developers, artists, and testers throughout the game development cycle, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide clear direction, set priorities, and empower team members to achieve project goals.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges during the development process and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success and adherence to project timelines.

Lead the process of preparing and managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bids, including defining project requirements, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with project timelines and budgets. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and monitor their performance to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project objectives.
    • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance process, including testing, bug tracking, and performance optimization, to ensure the video game meets the highest standards of functionality, user experience, and guest satisfaction.
    • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges during the development process and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success and adherence to project timelines.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with internal stakeholders, including project managers, executives, technical integrators, and creative directors, to provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any potential issues or roadblocks.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed

  • Directly reports to the Sr. Producer for the project portfolio
  • Game Development Knowledge: Utilize your deep understanding of game development to provide guidance and support to the development team throughout the production cycle. Ensure that the development process adheres to industry best practices and delivers high-quality game content.

  • Previous experience working in a production role where you've managed cross-functional teams in the creation and delivery of complex projects

  • Must possess excellent business communication both verbal and in writing, and well-honed interpersonal skills

  • Understand the gaming industry and managing a creative process

  • Deep understanding of game development, software development process, and project management practices.

Education and Experience

  • 5-7 years game dev and production experience minimum
  • At least 2 years in a leadership capacity"
