Merchandise Manager. Apparel & Accessories

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing the strategic vision for the Artful Home apparel business across catalog and digital, building and managing the seasonal assortment strategy across all designers and private label brands by performing the following duties directly or through others

Artful Home is looking for a team player, who appreciates what we do, to join our Merchandising team in Los Angeles, CA.
Focuses on Artful Home's Vision and Guiding Principles. Considers the best interest of Artful Home and its team members, artists, and customers, while performing job duties.
Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected and included regardless of their individual differences and feel motivated to improve individual and work area contributions to achieve desired business results.
Develops the category strategy for Apparel & Accessories and oversees the curation of the overall site assortment. Leads strategy development to grow sales and margin and ensures the success of designated categories. Analyzes sales and conducts external competitive analysis to gain market share.
Oversees purchased and drop-ship assortment strategies while growing exclusive designer development and Artful Home studio product development opportunities.
Owns artist recruitment and leads the continual launch of new product from existing artists and introduces new artists.
Identifies and quantifies new business opportunities.
Partners with the Director of Merchandising (Apparel and Jewelry) to develop the seasonal operations calendar. Communicates key dates, seasonal assortments, sample requests and product information as needed.
Merchandises compelling channel presentations utilizing the seasonal and core product assortment. Collaborates with Creative, Marketing and Inventory Planning to drive seasonal strategies that meet financial targets and align with the brand strategy. Uses analytics to adjust the product offer accordingly.
Provides product insights for the site and collaborates with marketing on email/messaging as well as the online presentation. This includes marketing emails, landing pages, mini landing pages, special events.
Collaborates cross-functionally and develops seasonal action plans to maximize opportunities and minimize liabilities.
Analyzes performance for assigned categories in season and post season. Identify category trends and opportunities. Reports key takeaways and proposes actionable next steps from learnings.
Leads the development of direct team and promotes career and leadership development at all levels.
Some travel will be required to include occasional weekends for shows.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Successful Candidates Will Possess The Following
Associate or bachelor's degree in fashion or retail merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
Five (5) plus years of direct merchandising experience is required. Experience with apparel and eCommerce merchandising, multi-channel retailing, and sales optimization in an online environment is preferred.
Experience With Managing Others Is Required.
Demonstrates initiative, passion, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Demonstrates strong computer skills and a solid knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Values the differences in team members, artists, and customers, giving them the benefit of the doubt before making assumptions. Supports team members and goes to them directly when there is a concern.
