Job Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

We are seeking an exceptionally creative and forward-thinking Assistant Footwear Designer to join our ORIGINALS LA team. As a key member of this team, you will be at the forefront of creating groundbreaking designs that blend innovative technology, advanced manufacturing processes, and an acute understanding of the fashion lifestyle product space. Your role will involve exploring the intersection of our brand's heritage and future possibilities to shape the next generation of lifestyle footwear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a deep cultural connection with the fashion and streetwear community, staying attuned to their preferences, style evolution, and emerging trends.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on the fashion lifestyle product space, keeping abreast of emerging trends, materials, and manufacturing advancements.
  • Execute and assist the creative vision of senior designers and the larger team, translating conceptual ideas into tangible designs with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Learning how to seamlessly integrate innovative technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes into the design process, while considering comfort and aesthetic aspects.
  • Support and execute on prototyping and testing new footwear designs, iterating based on feedback and evaluating performance.
  • Support and execute conceptual ideas into visual representations through sketches, renderings, and 3D models to effectively communicate design intent.
  • Continuously contribute to enhancing the team's design capabilities, exploring new techniques, tools, and processes.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and cultural influences to inform and inspire design directions.
  • Assist in presenting design concepts and prototypes to internal stakeholders, articulating the vision, inspiration, and rationale behind each design.
  • Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless execution of design concepts.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in footwear design, with a strong focus on innovative and forward-looking designs is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interest in footwear construction, materials, and advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • Passion for innovation, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the Adidas brand and its commitment to pushing boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to blend creativity with technical feasibility, considering both aesthetics and functional requirements.
  • Good knowledge of fashion lifestyle product space, staying up-to-date with industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Rhino, SolidWorks, Gravity Sketch, blender or other similar software is a plus.

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is [$65,000-$97,400]. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. Employees accrue prorated flexible time off in the amount .4388 hours per day that increases with years of service, eleven paid holidays throughout the calendar year and Service Time Off during milestone years.
  • Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is LA.
