Job Description

POSITION: Production Manager

REPORTS TO: VP of PD & Production

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA (partial remote)


THE OPPORTUNITY: PRODUCTION MANAGER

Birdy Grey is seeking a motivated Production Manager to join our talented Product Development and Production team. This role will require working with the team developing and delivering the product lines to market. You will also be working closely with the PD and Tech Teams in developing products from conception to finalization.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage swatch card production.
  • Manage 3rd party Inspectors / Qima Inspections: Incorporate TOP feedback and review reports.
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Manage Bulk dress and NDC Production WIP to meet all drop dead dates to X - Factory.
  • Manage all phases of the Production process, vendor production performance and service level performance from cut and sew to X - Factory.
  • Manage and evaluate TOP Samples.
  • Confirm bulk arrival to the factory. Update WIP.
  • Collaborate with Fabric Manager and Tech on review of bulk components; color, weight, handfeel as necessary.
  • Provide production support to all cross functional areas including Design, PD and Tech teams.
  • Manage all packaging sourcing, suppliers and orders
  • Ensure all Vendors are in compliance with Vendor Manual requirements and production SOP’s. Keep relevant cross functional partners up to date.
  • Recommend and manage production related CB with Production Director.
  • Ensure relevant documentation i.e facility audits and certification is up to standard and up to date. Maintain Vendor files.
  • Ensure internal and external teams stay on calendar for all production related benchmarks..
  • Own root cause analysis of all Production related issues and CX quality related feedback: review TOP, vendor and 3rd party inspection reports, make recommendations and implement solutions for improvement / future orders.
  • Evaluate consumption and delivery needs and plan accordingly to prevent shortages and delays within the supply chain.
  • Negotiate favorable lead-times and terms to support business needs


THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have apparel production, garment construction and fabric knowledge and an understanding of apparel classification/duty and import requirements.
  • Must be hands on with a willing and supportive attitude.
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Experience with dresses, special occasions, pajamas, getting ready wear, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in Production and Product Development
  • Strong communication skills with timely follow through.
  • Able to use critical thinking to evaluate information and create action plans to overcome obstacles.
  • Knows Microsoft Suite (excel).
  • Ability to travel weekly to DTLA studio
  • Must have the ability to read and understand audits, inspection reports, tech packs, bill of materials and other related documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Design, Tech, and Production
  • Self-motivated and works well in fast-paced environment
