Job Description

These positions will respond with a Qualified Mental Health Professional to 9-8-8 calls and provide mental health consultation to individuals/families in the community who are needing some extra support. Building rapport with the individuals in service as well as community partners and referring to resources in our community is a large part of these positions. The Addiction Recovery Mentors will provide mentoring services and supports across a wide variety of settings while collaborating with a larger team to ensure individuals receive quality services. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Assists and supports persons served in county addiction treatment programs in accessing community health and social services; SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general direction of a clinical supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness. SUPERVISION EXERCISED Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class. services may be delivered in the following locations, but not limited to office or in the community including settings necessary to deliver addiction counseling services (e.g., This position is stationed and dispatched from the Psychiatric Crisis Center.Conducts outreach to engage persons who would benefit from addiction treatment services and supports.Assists persons served in reestablishing awareness of internal resources such as intelligence, competence, goal setting, and problem-solving abilities.identifies health and safety risks to self or others and applies crisis prevention, management, and de-escalation skills.Renders mentoring services and supports both in the office and in community settings necessary to deliver addiction counseling services and supports.Works within a team and collaborates with coworkers and community partners.Assists in making timely referrals to other professionals, agencies, community programs, or appropriate resources and evaluates outcome of referrals.Assists in transporting persons served to medical appointments, food pantry sites, shelter assistance, benefits programs, etc. Creates and maintains positive relationships with community partners.Provide outreach and engagement in partnership with peace officers and corrections professionalsDetermine and address immediate/crisis needs at the point of contact with peace officers and thereafter.gather information relevant to demographic, substance use/legal/incarceration history, physical and mental health, housing, and employment.Prepare and maintain confidential records.Monitor progress and collaborate with community partnersProvide transportation and accompany persons served as they access services and supports (e.g., medical and addiction mental health treatment appointments, legal hearings, housing tours, DMV, etc.).Attempt to locate persons served who are homeless for the purpose of engagement and support and input information into a web-based system in a timely manner.Timely documents services rendered in a professional, clear, accurate, and complete manner and in accordance with timelines set forth in policy.Incorporates work quality improvements under the coaching of the supervisor.Provides back up to PCC by answering phones via logging into TouchPoint.Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-person training. Requirements for the Position EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING High School diploma, or equivalent; ANDMust possess, or obtain within ninety (90) days of hire, a current MHACBO (Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon) CRM certification (Certified Recovery Mentor) See MCHACBO website for requirements. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history. Marion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualified applicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services and review the driving record according to the Marion County policy and procedure for Driving on County Business. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana.   • Wednesday 9:00 p.m. - knowledge of community resources. read and write English; assist in transportation of individuals in the community; climbs 1 floor of stairs; reads a 12 pt. font; Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, full-time employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
