Description
The Humana Meeting & Event Planning Internship provides the opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of both in-person and virtual event planning and implementation. Our internship offers the opportunity to gain professional experience, utilize current industry technologies, further develop communication and presentation skills, and experience skills in team collaboration and customer service.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking Meeting & Event Planning intern that will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the Simple Meetings Program
  • Assisting with program sourcing, detailing, execution, and reconciliation
  • Building event websites and registration forms
  • Customer satisfaction metrics reporting
  • Event participant management
By the completion of the internship, the student can expect to have:
  • Planned an event from intake to reconciliation
  • Gained network connections within the industry
  • A working knowledge of venue sourcing
  • Built customer service skills
  • The ability to develop an event budget
  • Experience utilizing Cvent for sourcing, registrations, and event websites
  • Experience working with hotels/venues on Banquet Event Orders, Room Blocks, and AV orders
Required Qualifications
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future
  • Strong and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Event Management
  • Ability to work professionally with colleagues and vendors
  • Intermediate use in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Cvent is a plus
  • Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desired
Additional Information
  • Reliable internet connection required
  • Ability to support weekday evening events
  • Minimum availability 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm while actively taking classes
  • Minimum availability 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm Eastern during the summer/while on break from school
