Job Posting Title
Medicare and Managed Medicaid Sales Director Remote
The Health Plan Sales Director is responsible for assisting with Prime’s sales strategies and building a robust pipeline of viable new sales opportunities that encompass new Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health plans, non-BCBS affiliated sales, and direct to employer sales. This position is also responsible for collaborating with senior leadership and subject matter experts across the enterprise to ideate and implement changes that create and increase sales.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the VP Sales in strategic sales planning and tactic development; execute plan deliverables in targeted markets; collaborate with Marketing and outside consultants on sales campaigns, plan outreach, meeting preparation and other means of communication; work with sales operations to develop and maintain effective sales reporting cadence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to conduct market research, develop networks, build and foster relationships with consultants and prospective clients; conduct discovery meetings, and advance awareness/understanding of Prime’s value proposition
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Partner with, and actively engage internal counsel and cross-functional stakeholders on contracting needs of client prospects
  • Build and maintain up-to-date dossier (Bid-at-a-Glance or BAG) on each prospect to inform and support sales planning, product roadmaps and related priorities; identifies opportunities to leverage and engage senior leaders and subject matter experts to strengthen relationships and elevate awareness of Prime’s capabilities and products
  • Accountable for health plan and direct-to-employer bid deliverables inclusive of response to plan/consultant key questions, executive summaries, and the timeliness and accuracy of the overall response
  • Conduct ongoing business development activities to build a pipeline of prospective sales within existing and in new sales channels
  • Provide day-to-day work direction, mentoring and support to sales development managers; participate in the staffing selection and lead sales team onboarding process
  • Manage key stakeholders through the end-to-end RFP selling process; conduct a thorough, qualitative review of the RFP and leverage BAG to proactively engage senior leadership, key stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the organization to provide insight and key details about the prospect to best position Prime to win the RFP
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8 years of experience in business development, business to business sales or sales support
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED required
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

  • Excellent business development acumen, critical thinking and customer orientation skills
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and consultation skills; demonstrated ability to distill financial or PBM related concepts or situations into concise and compelling messages
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and create opportunities, develop effective selling messages, presentations and proposals
  • Known as a subject matter expert in one or more areas within the industry
  • Exceptional communication and relationship development skills both internally and externally
  • Exceptional organizational, project management and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business or a related field
  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management and/or Health Insurance
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time
  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Reporting Structure
  • Reports to Vice President of Sales
Potential pay for this position ranges from $106,800.00 - $170,600.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
