Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clinic team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Your responsibilities will include both administrative tasks, such as patient scheduling and record-keeping, as well as assisting healthcare professionals in clinical duties. This position requires a strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Greet and check-in patients, ensuring their medical records are up-to-date and accurate.

2. Assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.

3. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and stocked with the necessary supplies.

4. Measure vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.

5. Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens as instructed by healthcare professionals.

6. Administer injections, medications, and immunizations under the direction of physicians.

7. Conduct routine patient screenings and document medical histories accurately.

8. Help patients feel comfortable and informed by providing clear instructions and answering their questions.

9. Ensure patient confidentiality by maintaining proper security protocols for medical records.

10. Assist with medical billing, insurance claims, and scheduling follow-up appointments.

11. Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure efficient clinic operations.

12. Keep abreast of medical advancements, procedures, and regulations to enhance knowledge and skills.

13. Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment.

14. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient privacy and data security.

15. Provide compassionate care to patients, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred.

2. Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited institution is highly desirable.

3. Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or healthcare setting is preferred.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

5. Solid understanding of medical terminology and practices.

6. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software.

7. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

8. Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

9. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

10. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

11. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

12. Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends, as per the clinic's needs.
