What To Expect
The Role
This position will work as a member of the Safety and Restraints team with the primary objectives to support the design and implementation of passive safety systems in new vehicles. The successful candidate for this position must have a strong engineering fundamentals background preferably with a strength in passive safety, data aquisition and/or data analysis.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do

• Assist in the development of tools to quanitify injury assessment in the field
• Assist the development of restraint systems including determination of deployment timing and co-ordination to minimize injury and ensure legal compliance.
• Mechanical design and optimization of pedestrian and occupant restraint systems.
• Assist with development and maintainance of a database using Python, MYSQL and Matlab
• Assist to develop structures with the CAE group to ensure desired system performance.
• Assist in the co-ordination and execution of full vehicle crash testing and sub-system testing
• Provide processed data / information to other groups with the purpose of improving impact safety
• Determine locations and mounting arrangements of transducers and ECUs.

What You’ll Bring
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

Preferred database knowledge

Preferred experience with Python 3+

Understanding the basics of Statistics and Data Science

Ability to follow oral, written, email, and text message instructions

Work in a team-based environment to achieve common goals

Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
