The successful candidate will:

• Create schematics and associated Bill of Materials for projects.
• Ability to initiate and plan the design of high-pressure gas systems, oil/water /compressed air systems, safety systems, etc.
• Support Operations personnel in maintenance work and troubleshooting issues at compression and pumping facilities. Have the ability to identify and address equipment with vibration issues, including mechanical resonances, torsional response, acoustic resonances, etc.
• Plan, schedule, and detail coordinate phases of engineering work while supporting the department and Project Manager with deliverables.
• Prepare and coordinate engineering reports, calculations, studies, and presentations
• Working knowledge of codes and standards of 49 CFR 192/ASME B31.8 & 49 CFR 195, B31.4.
• Be accountable for completing tasks with quality, compliance with applicable codes/standards, and on schedule.
• Review design/construction drawings for compression or pumping facilities.
• Interface with other technical/engineering disciplines to ensure the effective integration of the rotating equipment within the overall facility design.
• Assist with the commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in the field.
• Effectively interface and integrate with other Company departments including Project Management, System Design, Business Development, Engineering Design, Procurement, and Operations, to maintain the integrity of the Company’s infrastructure at numerous compressor stations along with all ancillary equipment within its boundaries (fuel gas skids, filter separators, OPP, ESD systems, etc) across the country.
• Review OEM drawings for compression/pumping equipment. Specifically design maps, operating conditions, efficiencies, maintenance/auxiliary equipment requirements, etc.
• Size coolers, process piping, control valves, over-pressure protection devices, and filtration equipment.

Position Requirements:

• Travel (~15%).
• Working knowledge of natural gas industry standards such (AGA, ASME, API, GPA, etc).
• Bachelors of Science degree in engineering (mechanical preferred) from an accredited school of engineering.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal guidance or supervision.
• Ability to take initiative and work with both company and non-company personnel to accomplish goals in a fast paced environment.
• Proclivity to engage operations and project management personnel in productive meetings to determine the best solutions for company.
• Ability to create technical specifications, Engineering Standards, Construction Standards, O&M Standards and department best practice documents.
• U.S. Citizenship .
• Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s)
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company.
• Well developed analytical and problem solving skills to address complex technical matters.
• Proficient PC-based skills including MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
• 5+ years of natural gas pipeline compression experience or 5+ years of liquid pipeline pump experience.

Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience in the design and specification of natural gas mechanical systems, including heat exchangers, gas compressors, pressure vessels, piping, and compressor controls.
• Experience leading industrial plant construction projects from a mechanical engineering standpoint.
• Knowledge and experience in the design and operation of natural gas facilities.
