Mechanical Design Engineer Jobs

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer from any Manufacturing background.

Location: White Plains, NY. (No Relocation)

NOTE: only Citizens and GC's.

Job Summary:

The company has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer whose responsibilities will include product/process improvement, engineering documentation, design, research, and prototyping of aircraft safety and performance devices. The successful candidate will gain unique hands-on exposure to the entire product lifecycle facilitated by the company’s on-site manufacturing and engineering laboratory while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of Engineering and Production personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Optimize manufacturing processes and procedures
• Use 3D CAD software to design and develop mechanical drawings
• Conduct engineering analyses
• Collaborate with Production and Quality personnel to design and improve assembly and inspection fixturing
• Complete the design process by generating production drawings and associated documentation
• Construct and evaluate engineering prototypes
• Design and perform various qualification testing
• Develop project schedules and cost estimates based on design requirements
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external (customers, suppliers, etc.)
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with understanding and applying GD&T
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes
• Extensive knowledge of materials and material properties

Preferred Assets:

• Understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles
• Exposure to designing for additive manufacturing (3D printing)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
