Mechanical Design Engineer Jobs

Axient has an exciting opportunity for a Supersonic/Hypersonic Mechanical Design Engineer at a Senior level to join the future of Air Force weapon development. Eglin AFB is standing up a new program within the Future Hypersonic team at Eglin AFB, FL. This team will primarily assist with the future development of Air Force supersonic and hypersonic weaponry.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledge and experience on modal analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and structural frequency testing.
• Provide knowledge and experience in identifying and evaluating mechanical, structural, thermal, and material characteristics for armament systems.
• Support design evaluation, prediction, modeling, and analysis of missile systems in subsonic, transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic flight regimes

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• Engineering degree from ABET accredited college.
• Master's degree with fifteen (15) years of professional experience; or
• Ph.D. with five (5) years of professional experience

Preferences:

• Background working with DoD Hypersonic or Supersonic weaponry

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
