Description

  • Perform daily audits to ensure standards are being met
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supervise general storeroom and inventory problems.
  • Meet daily targets, coordinate customer order priorities and daily follow-up activities with Production Planners, Buyers, and Business Team (Manufacturing and Quality Engineering) when required
  • Focus/Act/Follow-up on any hurdles impacting the department’s plan
  • Lead resolution to hurdles interfering with distribution delivery plans by using 5 Why and 4M (Man, Material, Machine, Method – 4M) methods
  • Lead daily team start-up meetings. Communicate SQDCPF updates to team and company performance
  • Ensures hourly team member compliance with all safety standards and work rules. Assertively and consistently address violations and initiate corrective actions
  • Discuss stock supply or removal requirements with the line or department supervisor
  • Supervise inventory shortages as related to the engine production rate
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of subordinates
  • Complete and respond to grievances, involving HR and Union Officials when needed
  • Direct daily functions of unionized hourly team members, including daily timekeeping of all hourly direct reports
  • Adjusts errors and complaints
  • Achieve Team/Department targets under the Site, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Financial (SQDCPF) umbrella.
  • Issue written and oral instructions
  • Lead Corrective Action Request follow-up activities

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate continual flexible workforce
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules
  • Build strong relationships with other departments within CMI
  • Lead/Support SMED and Kaizen activities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment and supervisory experience is required.


OTHER PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:

Supervising in a Union Environment, Process Development, Six Sigma, Aerospace, Lean Manufacturing, Precision Measurement, Metal Forging, casting and plating, and OSHA/Environmental Requirements.


COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED

Windows, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Power BI, Oracle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to work and transverse safety-sensitive manufacturing, assembly, and/or aviation services work areas. Ability to lift 10 pounds repeatedly and lift to 60 pounds occasionally. Ability to bend, reach, and kneel repeatedly. Ability to work in an environment with intermittent high levels of noise.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to analyze data, reports, and various documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read gauges and prints.
