- Provides leadership, coaching, training and feedback to direct reports including the Planning team,; defines expectations, monitors and evaluates performance.
- Builds a high-performing team through selective recruitment, collaboration, development, problem resolution and accountability.
- Develop and implementation of Sales and Operating Plan, to tactical execution of production orders that support customer on-time delivery targets while meeting business sales, cost and inventory targets.
- Responsible for the creation of the capacity plans and production schedules in weekly and daily increments, prioritizing orders and controlling flow of materials to the shop floor.
- Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand and replenishment processes.
- Provides strategy direction and leadership of production order creation and management, level loading production tasks, production order to promise achievable delivery dates to customers, constraining demand and expediting orders when warranted.
- Responsible for communication of production status
- Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures. - Assist in annual physical inventory as determined by the business needs.
- Design, develop, implement and sustain solutions for the improvement of material flow through operations using lean principles (5S, Kanban, Visual Management, etc.) and techniques such as FIFO, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), and route design.
- Responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the development of strategic methods to resolve and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate MRP both internally and externally to ensure optimized availability for production with minimal required inventory.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes and policies for material control and inventory systems to ensure efficient transition to new products and components (PIPO).
- APICS experience and/or certification a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities. Lean/six sigma working knowledge is a required.
- Relative Work Experience:
- 8+ years related experience including planning, scheduling, inventory control and cycle counting preferred.
- APICS certification preferred. Lean certification (e.g. Black Belt) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or related field required. Certifications / Licenses:
- Computer Systems / Software: Must be proficient in use of MS Office suite of tools and ERP/MRP system functionality in general. Familiarity with barcoding and warehouse management systems at the enterprise level is preferred.
