JOB PURPOSE

• The Materials Management Technician inventories and resupplies medical supply inventories in multiple departments throughout the hospital. Provides clean and functional patient care equipment to all clinical areas. In addition, the Materials Management Technician helps maintain the quick pick inventory area of the Store Room by receiving, labeling, date checking, and cycle counting the supplies that flow in and out of the quick pick area. Other duties include: management of supplies for Code, Swan Ganz, Pacemaker and Bone Marrow carts.

KEY CUSTOMERS SERVED AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Nursing staff and patients are served by providing supplies and equipment for patient use in a timely manner.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION

oHigh school graduate or equivalent

• EXPERIENCE

oExperience in the areas of Materials Management or nursing would be beneficial.

• LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

oNone

• OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

oSimple mathematical skills, basic computer skills, effective communication skills, and manual dexterity.
