Responsibilities

This position is part of the Communications and Public Relations (PR) unit within the Corporate Marketing and Communications Department at Public Consulting Group (PCG), which oversees all external and internal company communications. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Communications and PR, supporting the planning, development, execution, and measurement of a wide range of communications, public relations, and content initiatives.

The Content Strategist is responsible for supporting the goals, priorities, and initiatives of the company by coordinating and executing a wide range of content planning, development, deployment, and measurement functions across multiple channels and platforms. In this role, the selected candidate will:

Collaborate with PCG’s Human Capital Management (HCM) department to plan, create, edit, and publish relevant content supporting the company's business objectives and users' needs.

Write, manage, and strategically deploy communications content that aims to inform, entertain, inspire, and engage potential customers and/or employees.

Support efforts to build awareness of PCG as both an employer of choice and an industry-leading consulting firm.

Adapt stories and content to support employee engagement as well as talent recruitment and retention.

Collaborate with the creative design team in support of content goals and execution.

As needed, support efforts such as crisis communications, media relations, external partnerships, executive communications, employee relations, and thought leadership.

Manage planned and ad hoc communications projects and initiatives in collaboration with HCM to ensure effective planning, implementation, delivery, and measurement of defined outcomes.

Interact with company leadership and employees to support content development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing assignments
• Ability to cooperate with other team members to complete projects
• Exceptional language skills (especially grammar, editing, and writing) and interpersonal communication skills
• 1–2 years in a writing, editing, communications, or publishing environment
• Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to receive and apply editorial feedback
• Computer literacy in word processing and Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated ability to interpret writing style guides and follow instructions
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Ability to understand desired outcomes and ideate and implement strategies and tactics to achieve them.
• Ability to develop own ideas, take initiative, and assume responsibility.
• Basic knowledge of MS SharePoint, MS Form-builder, search engine optimization best practices
• Writing, editing, and content planning.
• Basic knowledge of ticketing/project-management software such as Workfront
• Familiarity with applications and programs such as Hootsuite
• Strong Microsoft Office applications skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative skills.
• Interest in and/or basic understanding of communications related to human resources areas such as talent management, talent acquisition, benefits, engagement, and employer rankings and awards.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000 - $79,000.
