The Market Insights Manager is a key role within the Product Marketing team that will work with internal and external partners to drive key business decisions. This role will collaborate with several functions around work to compile insights about evolving consumer (SVT), builders, contractors, etc. needs, trends and opportunities in the Doors that Do More™ value chain, existing and emerging players across our markets, and factors influencing profitability to support strategic leadership decisions within Masonite.


This person must have a passion for the Internet of Things insights, market research and competitive intelligence. The team offers a fast-paced and challenging environment, continuous career growth through conferences and peer development, and access to LinkedIn courses and industry trainings to grow and develop. The Market Insights Manager will see how their work enhances our business strategy and contributes to the success of the brand and company within the first six months.


  • Build and manage a fully operational research repository to reference past, current and future research that can be leveraged by the organization.
  • Analyze and synthesize data and research findings to develop clear and actionable insights for socialization across the Marketing and Product organizations.
  • Identification of innovation platforms for insight-based new product development (rapid concept testing to align evolution of JTBD product ideas).
  • Oversee end-to-end management of qualitative, quantitative, data mining projects including needs identification, planning, methodology/design, project management, coordinating with external vendors or internal constituents and insights mining for Smart Home.
  • Partner and build relationships cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Online Marketing, Channel Marketing, Innovation and Product Management to develop learning agendas and collaborate on data analysis and strategic initiatives.
  • Development of iterative testing plan (Discover and Define phases) of product prototypes, models and methods with consumers.
  • Organize, analyze, and synthesize industry understanding, competitive benchmarking, third-party subscription databases, and internal competitive intelligence to inform positioning and improve /inform research needs in smart home space to aid in driving strategy of Doors that Do More™.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, psychology, business, or related field or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years relevant experience on behalf of a brand or supplier; preferably across multiple industries
  • Ability to ask scoping questions to understand what business partners need, rather than only what they want.
  • Strong organization and ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills and the ability to inspire others.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams with ability to frame problems
  • Highly self-motivated, thrive in fast-paced collaborative environment, and work well within a team, both in-person and virtually
  • Proven track record of driving business decisions by providing actionable insights based on data.
  • Experience selecting and managing third-party research vendors.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to travel on a limited basis required.
