Manufacturing Operations Manager Jobs

RxSafe, located in Vista, CA, is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Manager. This role will manage the Production, Shipping and Receiving departments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading efficient operations producing high quality goods and services, while maintaining high safety standards. This role develops timelines, forecasting and manages cost reduction / containment. We seek a proven leader who provides team development through training, coaching, leading by example and fosters continuous open communication.

Summary of the Role:

• Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems
• Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labor resources to achieve manufacturing target
• Monitor and control a production process to adjust operations in event of a problem
• Schedule the maintenance of production equipment and machines to ensure efficient operations
• Oversee the regulation of work shift to ensure proper workload distribution
• Review personnel performance to determine individuals most suited for promotion
• Conduct assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency
• Liaise with the quality assurance department to ensure product quality and specification are consistent
• Oversee the procurement of raw materials and equipment required for manufacturing
• Lead continuous improvements within the team
• Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of technical production employees to ensure a competent workforce
• Supervise the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure a manufacturing process is within budget and time schedule
• Conduct studies and research to discover a more effective approach to production

Desired Skills, Attributes and Requirements:

• Project Management Skills: Able to handle a manufacturing process to ensure timely and cost-effective production
• Confident, rounded thinker
• Exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals
• Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
• Able to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
• High levels of motivation, optimistic and action orientated
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years’ experience overseeing manufacturing, shipping and receiving
• Actively committed to team development
• Is self-aware, resilient, assertive, and openly supports change
• Proven skills operating and examining production equipment for faults
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and recognized Six Sigma tools (Yellow, Green Belt etc.)
• Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities
• Organizational Skills: They are adept at coordinating the different stages of manufacture to ensure seamless operations
