Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking experienced professionals to support the state of the art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support global quality initiatives on business process and system improvements.
  • Provide leadership in developing and fostering the quality mindset within the Fab 8 community.
  • Strategize and lead internal quality initiatives to support business needs and evolving customer needs
  • Own and drive all manufacturing quality metrics to targets and drive continuous improvement (Excursions, Near Misses, On-time submission, AI closure, Escapes, etc)
  • Work closely with the Process Integration, Advanced Module Engineering and all other support group stakeholders for successful execution of all the needed steps of each process within the specific business processes scope.
  • Oversee team representation across all corporate QMS forums.
  • Enable a robust business process to enable successful executions of all elements to support each individual process flow here in Fab8
  • Drive timely and effective closure of internal corrective/preventive action process and prevent recurrence through robust problem solving and 8D methodology
  • Be a catalyst to enable risk based thinking & quality mindset culture Fab8 Supporting various departments by collecting and coordinating internal quality processes across various departments, conducting ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks, managing and reporting compliance breaches and exposures.
  • Own, drive the KPI (Key Process Indicators) for each business process to and drive continuous improvements by identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Work with global quality teams to ensure we strive for ONEGF policy, practices and principles.
  • Drive continuous improvements to key systems and business process through structured training program implementation

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

  • Experience – 3+ years management experience or relevant experience to demonstrate team leadership skills.
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience – 5+ years relevant experience in the semiconductor industry with direct customer engagement experience
  • Good written, presentation, communication skills and interact with all levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fostering a quality culture with customer perspective
  • Able to withstand and perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Leadership skills to drive a high-performance team with hands on experience on excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge and applied experience in overall Quality Management systems such as Control Plan, FMEA, SPC, Corrective Action Requests, 8D problem solving methodologies other quality tools etc.,
  • Experience with multi and cross functional environments
  • ISO9001:2015/IATF16949, auditor certification preferable
