The Manager of Continuous Improvement's primary responsibilities are to identify, lead and manage initiatives that drive improvements in productivity, quality, and service in the distribution centers. This job requires both tactical and strategic problem-solving skills, along with strong analytical capabilities and communication skills. Mut effectively identify, analyze, and drive to completion new initiatives within the four walls through a combination data collection/analysis, stakeholder engagement and change management. The Manager will be responsible for identifying and eliminating DC waste, leading DMAIC projects, securing any investment required, and driving the necessary change management for sustained value capture

Process Improvement and Analysis

  • Manage development and maintenance of best practices for all job functions
  • Use data analysis capabilities to validate hypotheses or monitor improvements
  • Utilize CI mindset to create mousetraps for productivity initiatives including but not limited to Daily Management Boards, 5S, Routines,PDCA, etc.
  • Leverage process time standards to estimate productivity opportunity of ideas that emerge during process improvement ideation
  • Drive SOP compliance by partnering up with front-line DC managers and supervisors
  • Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities within the current structure by providing insightful analysis and making compelling recommendations to senior leadership
  • Use Lean toolkit to solve day-to-day problems and drive out process waste / inefficiencies
  • Collect DC observations, understand current operations, and collaborate with subject matter experts from corporate and in the Field to identify opportunities

Project Management

  • Own overall timelines and deliverables for CI projects while providing guidance and leadership to project resources
  • Pursue big process unlocks with rigor through cross-functional DMAIC projects
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party consulting resources to brainstorm improvement ideas and develop sharp hypotheses

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of LMS and time study software
  • Knowledge of statistics and probability
  • Previous exposure to Lean / CI transformation
  • Up to 50% Travel on an annual basis
  • Utilize MS Excel/Access to develop tools for analysis and modeling
  • 5+ years of experience in projects related to process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation
  • Preferred experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment with labor management systems
