Summary Description
The Manager, Fan Experience & Special Events, will report directly to the Senior Director, Fan Experience & Special Events and will be responsible for the overall execution of all aspects of the Cleveland Browns fan experience including home games, team events and other organization initiatives. This individual should be obsessed with providing our fans and guests with a best-in-class experience across every event throughout the year. This role will play a key part in the planning and execution of gameday activations to enhance the overall customer experience, closely working with multiple internal departments, external vendors, and event staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute Cleveland Browns events from start to finish including creating production plans and run of shows, conceptualizing entertainment programming and operational needs, attending walk-throughs, fulfilling partner activations, setting meeting and rehearsals schedules, collaborating across internal departments, arranging vendor load-in and load-out, as well as taking the lead on event staffing responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal departments across tentpole events and manage production schedules.
  • Manage special event and game entertainment budget with a focus on strategic spending.
  • Oversee the planning of the season game calendar as well as executing the yearly special event calendar.
  • Manage the overall game entertainment inventory and internal content needs.
  • Consistently help develop creative ideas, including in-game promotions, features, and performances.
  • Lead the Cleveland Browns Mascot Program, working closely with performers to create engaging experiences and multi-platform content.
  • Manage the department’s gameday staff and activation teams including street team, gameday interns, gameday operations staff and hosts.
  • Create relationships and arrange vendors for event needs such as temporary site construction, bleachers, lighting, tents, electrical, fabrication, and audio visuals.
  • Develop annual fan experience events and activations to work towards the guiding organizational principle of fan obsession.
  • Manage the two Coordinators of Fan Experience and Special Events as well as department interns.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Proficient in event plan/production book creation with the ability to present and communicate to all levels of management
  • Proactive, creative thinker with a strong work ethic
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Projects a positive image as well as inspires trust and credibility with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with a team-oriented approach

  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • A proven stage manager and gameday event production leader
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines
  • Experience managing a team in a supervisor role is preferred
  • Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in live production, event operations and/or fan experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in marketing, sports management, or related field
  • Proficient at Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of social trends is preferred
