Job Description

Marcolin Eyewear is seeking a Manager - Communications, PR & Events to lead activities for North America across Marcolin’s portfolio of brands. Reporting to the VP of Communications, the role will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales and Headquarter teams in Italy to develop strategies and execute activities that drive our corporate and brand goals.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:


COMMUNICATIONS / PR

  • Own editorial relationships with key trade publications to secure corporate and product coverage in line with corporate and portfolio brand strategies and communications plans
  • Manage seasonal sample orders and ongoing seeding orders and sample budgets, with internal support.
  • Select seasonal US PR assortment, leading internal alignment on focus styles in line with key retailer buys, brand priorities and sales goals.
  • Oversee corporate communications to elevate Marcolin within the Eyewear industry
  • Partner with HQ team in Italy to maximize press assets, timelines and processes
  • Collaborate with brand managers to plan and execute trade media advertising, negotiating best rates and placements.
  • Lead US consumer public relations strategy development for focus portfolio brands, overseeing implementation by US PR agencies across editorial, VIP, and events to ensure strong coverage for our brands to support sales goals.


EVENTS

  • Partner with sales, brand, and marketing teams to develop functional events that drive key messaging and sales goals and ROI targets.
  • Lead development and execution of events including trade shows, buying events, sales meetings, training events, market weeks and press events. Partnering with external agencies on event production.
  • Manage event budgets and key vendor relationships, negotiating best rates and terms with partners.


EDUCATION, REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Experience managing external vendors or partners with strong negotiation ability.
  • Ability to manage fast-moving, time-sensitive projects with strong ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong attention to detail, knowledge of luxury standards
  • Outgoing demeanor comfortable working cross-functionally internally and externally.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field
  • Highly organized with demonstrated project management skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to set strategy and goals, with execution through agency partners
  • 8-10 years of experience in Communications & Event Planning within the Fashion/Luxury industry

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills across a broad and diverse audience
  • Experience hosting clients or press with understanding for luxury hospitality practices.
  • Advanced analytical skills in managing ROI of initiatives and budget management
