As Manager, Business Development, you will join the Global Portfolio Engineering Team that supports technical and commercial excellence within the Global Sales and Marketing organization. In this role, you will lead a team driving business development activity for new product introductions and strategic initiatives across the company. This includes the new Rockwell Automation Product Early Adopter Program and working closely with global stakeholders to create and execute early product adoption strategies, coordinate partner and customer engagements globally, and facilitate business development campaigns across the ecosystem.
Preferred location is Mayfield Heights, Ohio or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
We will also consider other Remote locations globally.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Rockwell Automation Early Adopter program and work closely with the regional sales and partnering teams to maximize value from the interactions.
  • Define clear problem and market opportunity statements that lead to product early adoption with strong emphasis on identifying the right targets, delivering measurable customer satisfaction, delivering impactful marketing content, and creating business value as per our company strategy.
  • Drive business development activity for new product introductions and strategic initiatives by working closely with the sales, marketing, and product business teams globally to gain adoption and grow business.
  • Engage with global marketing teams to effectively create compelling marketing collateral both during and after successful early adopter project implementations.
  • Provide strong leadership in the execution of the program that involves cross-functional and cross-business team alignment. Champion innovative approaches to identifying early adopters, attachment opportunities, and creating meaningful value for users, while being a thought leader.
  • Develop and lead a diverse, high-performance team with emphasis on developing individuals for expanded responsibilities aligned to business and company needs.
  • Gather and effectively document customer / market requirements from global program participants and effectively prioritize feedback to the product business teams.
  • Strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork with customers, sales, marketing, and businesses to define and manage early adopter program processes and procedures.
  • Maintain strong customer relationship management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various functional groups and peer business teams.
  • Work closely with the product business teams to identify candidate early adopter offerings and put business development plans in place that are aligned with commercial release objectives.
  • Recognized by management and peers as an advisor on topics beyond early adopter products. This would include, but not limited to, a strong understanding of the Rockwell Automation portfolio, system architectures, and how solutions drive value for users.
  • Have a broad application and technical understanding of automation systems and leverage this understanding to quickly learn new products, be able to educate others on their benefits and value, and how to apply them to customer projects.
Minimal Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, or equivalent.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team to achieve position objectives.
  • Experience with a diverse set of technical and commercial aspects of automation control systems.
  • Experience interfacing with customers and articulating value propositions.
  • Be a technology enthusiast for the purpose of its application to address Industry challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and influencing capabilities.
  • Proven Industry experience in control system design, implementation, commissioning, and/or support.
  • Have a drive for continuous learning.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing high performance teams
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industrial automation industry.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation software products.
