REI’s Procurement organization is transforming how the source-to-pay process is done at every level to dramatically improve the customer experience and enable strong business outcomes. This job will contribute to REI’s success by leading the implementation of procurement transformation as the manager of Accounts Payable. This role ensures timely payments of invoices, accurate recording of transactions, interpretation of policies, and definition of processes. The role manages and develops team members to achieve high engagement and optimal balance of service, efficiency, and controls.

  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Ensures team members have a clear understanding of Co-op, Procurement and Accounts Payable goals and vision and how their work maps to each.
  • Overseas training and development through formal and informal opportunities.
  • Participates in external organizations to stay abreast of current trends, learn from others, and develop a network of connections for potential talent acquisition.
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

Planning & Navigating Requirements

  • Managers a team of accounts payable professionals by setting expectations and measuring against them.
  • Overseas efficient execution of ACH, wires, and check payment transactions.
  • Maintains awareness of all activities and issues that could impact daily operations and service level.
  • Demonstrates work/life balance while remaining responsive.
  • Ensure team documentation and other resources are at the right level of detail and remains fresh.
  • Puts customers at the center acting as a strategic adviser and demonstrating predictable credibility.
  • Demonstrates a bias for action identifying opportunities and driving efficiency leveraging Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Embraces technology by maximizing the benefits of existing tools and seeking understand of additional solutions to drive efficiency and transformation.
  • Defines processes that align to policies, procedures, best practices, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and executes through internal and third-party resources with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Contributes meaningful results by delivering against expectations that are continuously validated to be relevant.
  • Oversees the preparation, maintenance, and filing of the annual 1099 information returns ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Builds a collaborative network of internal stakeholders and actively works to be seen as a subject matter expert for aligned space.
  • Develops and drives execution of short- and long-term roadmap for aligned areas of responsibility demonstrating strong project management and change agent skills.
  • Oversees full cycle accounts payable processes for both merchandise and non-merchandise (indirect/expense) payables.
  • Considers matters holistically to ensure inputs are thoughtful and strategically crafted.

  • Substantial ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or another relatable field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience with demonstrated leadership experience.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.

The pay for this role is: $111000 - $177500 per year .
