• Coordinate with Facilities Manager to prepare all related equipment for regulatory inspections.
• Test water quality for all utility systems and take any necessary corrective action, such as adding chemicals to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits.
• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation, in order to ensure that boilers are operating properly. Maintain valves Boiler for feed water, combustion air, and fuel flow into burners.
• Interact with and assist Facilities Manager to respond to requests from outside (state and/or local government) agencies that perform inspections of equipment in order to maintain boiler certifications.
• Monitor and inspect equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions, and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely. Conducts scheduled safety checks and PMs of boiler and related utility equipment.
• Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
• Coordinate and assist PactivEvergreen Engineer’s during capital project upgrades/utilities expansions
• Operate boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment such as pumps, compressors and air-conditioning equipment, in order to supply utilities for Inline, Beaded Foam Cup and Foam/MFPP production processes.
• Manage contractors to complete equipment repairs and/or preventive maintenance tasks.
• Responsible for housekeeping in area(s) of responsibility to ensure a safe, clean and neat work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain supplies required for operation and maintenance of boilers and other utility related equipment.
• Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work.
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
