Maintenance Assistant (Pw-Street Maintenance)

The City of Pasadena Public Works Department is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform general maintenance and laboring duties. The candidate will perform general maintenance and laboring duties in a variety of areas including construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sewers and storm drains, forestry, traffic signs and painting, graffiti removal, and department assigned Public Works related duties. SELECTION PROCESS The selection process will consist of an evaluation of training and experience and the candidates deemed most highly qualified will be invited to participate in a written examination and department level interview. VACANCY INFORMATION There are currently two vacancies in the Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment may be used to fill these vacancies and similar vacancies in the future. Candidates selected for these positions are subject to a one-year probationary work period. Special Requirements Must have or obtain a valid Class C California Driver License, as it is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Incumbents may be rotated and reassigned to different work activities and work schedules on an as-needed basis.
• Performs general maintenance and laboring duties, including heavy manual labor work, in a variety of areas including construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sewers and storm drains, forestry, street lights and traffic signals, and graffiti removal.
