Job Description

It is the primary responsibility of the Lost & Found Clerk to answer phones, complete filing for the department, and process lost and found. All duties are performed in accordance with department guest service standards and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare lost and found items for shipping
  • Prepare security/lost and found paperwork for records retention
  • Attempt to locate owner of lost items
  • Coordinate pick up of lost and found items from the hotel floors
  • Answer multi-line telephones and take messages for Security Department
  • Pull and sort unclaimed items for charity
  • File all lost and found/ Security related reports
  • Ensure employee accident reports are properly completed and filed for Worker's Compensation
  • Log, sort, store, and return all lost and found items to owners

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working in a similar resort setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months administrative experience
  • Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary language
