Job Description
Hillenbrand is looking for a Legal Executive Assistant to join our team in Batesville, IN or Batavia, OH . As a Legal Executive Assistant, you will be reporting directly to the SVP, General Counsel. The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing executive support to the Legal and Compliance Team, including General Counsel and Senior Counsel – Corporate & Securities. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to the Legal and Compliance Team and is a key team member, working closely with the General Counsel and Senior Counsel – Corporate & Securities on corporate governance, compliance, administrative support, organization, and data management.

What you’ll do:


  • Prepare, receive, and promptly & professionally manage correspondence to assist with operations, development, and other Legal team matters
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Handles confidential information often; manages information critical to the business.
  • Research and/or gather information as needed/requested, including legal research from time to time.
  • Positively interact and communicate with all levels of the organization and all levels of our customers' organization as well.
  • Compose customer correspondence, announcements, and management minutes, and draft or customize form agreements (employment, consulting, retention, confidentiality, etc.) as needed.
  • Analyze and summarize contract terms as needed/requested.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties (follow-up systems, filing, typing, advanced word processing and proofreading etc.)
  • Prepare Board of Directors and Committee materials
  • Process invoices and prepare internal expense reports.
  • Effectively work with other Executive Assistants to provide a cohesive environment and with Paralegal on corporate governance, document management, and signature processes
  • Schedule meetings with both internal and external participants and arrange travel reservations.
  • Assist with preparation and management of Legal, Compliance, and Board budgets, and reconcile budgets on a monthly basis.


Basic Requirements:


  • At least an associate degree or equivalent from a two-years college or technical school in administration, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (computer skills)
  • At least 5 years related admin experience (preferably at least 3 at an executive level)
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive information & maintain confidentiality.


Great to Haves:


  • Paralegal certificate or work experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Board Vantage platform is a plus, but not required.
