Job Description
Responsibilities:
The Legal and Public Policy Fellow works with a team of internal and external counsel members on various projects involving public policy related to behavioral healthcare. The fellow is responsible for conducting and presenting legal research aligned with Hazelden Betty Ford’s strategic priorities. The fellow supports the day-to-day activities of the general counsel’s office and contributes to process improvements and standardization of procedures. The fellow will be part of a multi-enterprise risk assessment and coordinate implementation efforts.
The Legal and Public Policy fellow will have access to senior executives in our national system of care and the industry counterparts. The fellow contributes to meaningful projects, has exposure to a $35 billion industry experiencing growth, and observes decision-making at the executive level.
  • Research Foundation-wide strategy for public policy
  • Support staff in a multi-enterprise risk assessment and workplan Contribute to implementation efforts related to organizational workplan activities

This is a hybrid role, reporting to our St. Paul location
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate student or recent graduate exploring a career in the legal profession
  • Maintain fellowship for at minimum 12 months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient level of computer skills, including ability to work in all Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding in research methods
  • Current law student or person actively exploring law school
  • Bachelor’s degree in pursuit of exploring a career in the legal profession
