Lebanese Linguist And Cultural Advisor – Al Udeid Ab - Qatar Ts/Sci

Peraton is seeking a Lebanese Linguist and Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a large program. This position is located in Qatar. The Lebanese Linguist/CULAD will provide continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and assessment of global, regional, and tailored area geopolitical media and news sources. The position is an unaccompanied one-year assignment that can be extended by the customer and if elected by the individual chosen to provide support.

Remote Tour – Off Base Housing and Transportation Provided

Role and Responsibilities:

• To gather information on trends, behaviors, events and directed global developments to generate media synopsis reports and assessments of local geopolitics and foreign media discourse

• Provide expert advice to DoD/MIL leadership of social media influence operations, draft policy, doctrine, decisions, trends concepts, and studies.

• Interpret and analyze oral and written source material such as classified reports, data, briefings and conversations.
• Interpret data for information for a range of deductions encompassing breadth of subjects
• Analyze data for coded patterns of information
• Produce predictive recommendations and identify anticipated strategic communications opportunities
• Use directed, or design research methods appropriate to pre-defined client criteria
• Provide cultural expertise in written or oral form in bot native Lebanese Arabic and US English
• Monitor industry and technology trends in traditional, digital, social, mobile media
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and support communications plans

Basic Qualifications:

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree and at least 8-10 years of experience or a Master's Degree and 6 years of Experience (Will accept 14 years of experience in lieu of a degree) with at least 5 years of experience as a researcher monitoring media and providing analysis of trends, political events, and geopolitical impacts

• Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience:

• A minimum of passing 4/4/4 testing scores both in English and Lebanese Arabic
• Superior Lebanese Arabic reading, writing, and speaking skills - excellent oral, written and electronic communication in English
• Have an in depth understanding of the cultural differences, nuances, customs, symbolism, mannerisms, and traditions of the various ethnic groups residing throughout the Middle East
• Understanding of Lebanese culture and speaks/reads/writes Arabic with a Lebanese/Levantine dialect
• Must have experience with Lebanese target audience (males 18-36 years old) pop culture and associated social media technology
• Minimum of 5 years working or living within the CCMD AOR
• Understanding of the religious differences; Shia and Sunni Muslim and understanding the Lebanese Hezbollah organization social and political activities

• Demonstrated capability to work with Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Requires an active DoD TS with SCI eligibility
• US Citizenship required and possession of a valid US Passport, not expiring within 6 months.
• Must be fully eligible for Qatar Visa and willing and able to deploy and abide by required COVID quarantine requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad Experience as a media monitor/researcher for the DoD
• Recent Native Cultural Experience
• Experience with Information Operations
• Previous experience with US Military forces in a direct supporting role to MISO/IO/IW/IRCs
• Demonstrated ability to provide high quality presentations and work with small and large groups
