Founded on the basic principles of safety and service excellence, Seabulk Towing assists deep sea and coastal vessels during port calls, providing services along the Gulf Coast and Southeastern seaboard port system from Port Arthur, Texas to Cape Canaveral, Florida.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team for the following position:
Tug AB/Deckhand
Duties and Responsibilities for the position are as follows:

Must possess the ability to make sound decisions, be dependable, conscientious, show initiative and pay attention to details.
Must be able to work/live closely with others and show a willingness to adhere to rules and regulations.
Have stability under pressure and have the ability to withstand the stresses associated with the job's potential hazardous situations, the physical demands and unpredictable weather.
Offshore/coastal towing experience recommended.
SAFE OPERATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The deckhand will be familiar and adhere to all safety policies and practices concerning his/her job as required by governmental agencies and by the company. He/she will report any hazardous or unsafe condition to the Captain or Mate on watch and make “on the-spot” corrections when capable under the supervision of the Captain or Mate.

The Deckhand is primarily accountable for his/her own health, safety, and cleanliness. He/she must be familiar with Company policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations, and must always abide by them.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & GENERAL DUTIES
Deckhand duties will vary from tug to tug and from watch to watch. He/she will stand a watch as posted and perform other watch standing duties as ordered by the Captain or Mate. Other duties will include the general upkeep and maintenance of the tug along with any other maintenance work shoreside that he/she may be directed to do.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
These consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Report all personal injuries or illnesses to the Captain or Mate on watch.
Report all accidents resulting in actual or possible damage, including “near misses,” to any SBT tug, other vessels or fixed objects, such as bridges, docks, buoys, and spills or pollution to the Captain or Mate on watch.
Required Qualifications:

Education: High School or equivalent
Languages: English
Experience: Minimum six months working experience on a vessel, offshore experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credentials (AB license); TWIC card; valid passport; ability to attain a local, regional, port and/or state issued identification card;
Traits: Ability to work well with others, self-starter, proactive, must be flexible with work schedule (willing to travel on short notice), stability under pressure, ability to work in unpredictable weather extremes.

Preferred Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications: AB rating with STCW including RFPNW rating
