Lead Dispatcher Position - BDL/Hartford, CT
Responsibilities
Coordinating and managing the most efficient loads, routes, and vehicles for drivers to pick up and deliver freight to assigned destinations in a safe and timely manner.
Maining contact with drivers and customers to communicate updates, delays special instructions.
Handling customer inquiries, and concerns, while updating the system notes.
Recording driver assignments, task completions, and other pertinent data in the transportation management system in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Knowledge of trucking regulations and laws.
Understanding how shipping, trucking, and logistics work.
Analytical skills to problem-solve and coordinate difficult situations.
Ability to communicate and handle upset customers and drivers.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Technology skills, particularly in transportation management software.
Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties.
Ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations.
