Job Description
Overview:

Position is responsible for dispatching company and third party trucking as well as fielding calls from customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in VA locations utilizing OTM.
  • Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
  • Coordinate freight movements.
  • Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with other departments and all levels of employees.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Associate’s Degree in Transportation Management or related field and/or minimum three years of experience in dispatch.
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.
  • Must represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company’s image with employees, leadership and the public.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills.
Preferred
  • Dispatch experience preferred, but not required.
  • CDL or previous driving experience is preferred, but not required.
  • OTM experience is preferred, but not required.
