Language Arts Curriculum Designer, Assessment Focus (K-3)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is seeking an experienced, passionate educator to join our team as a Language Arts Curriculum Designer and help shape our growing suite of K-12 assessments.
As a Language Arts Curriculum Designer with an assessment focus, you will design clear, engaging assessment items and collaborate with psychometricians and program managers to achieve our educational goals. Your educational insight, creative solutions, strong writing skills, and commitment to quality will make personalized learning a reality for millions of students.
This is a full-time remote position.
What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with curriculum designers, psychometricians, program managers, and company leaders to determine assessment scope and approach
• Write achievement level descriptors and other assessment documentation
• Assist with other ELA curriculum design projects as assigned, such as creating and reviewing standards alignments and writing and reviewing ELA content for IXL's learning activities
• Write and review clear, engaging assessment items to address specified educational objectives in K-3.
• Develop and manage project plans to create and deliver high-quality assessment items
• Research and analyze content requirements, including state educational standards
• Review and edit assessment items and collaborate with our team of writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content is clear, accurate, and age-appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
• Experience developing items for widely-used reading assessments.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively solve problems
• K-3 early literacy teaching or tutoring experience
• Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
• Ability to quickly learn new guidelines and software; familiarity with HTML, Jira, or Git is a plus
• Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus
• Bachelor's in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related filed with an explicit focus on literacy. A Master's or Ph.D. is a plus.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $88,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
