Graphic Designer, Stem Research

Tidbit is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team and create visually stunning graphical abstract templates for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) research articles. As a Graphic Designer at Tidbit, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the presentation of scientific research by designing engaging and informative graphical abstracts. Your work will contribute to improving the accessibility and impact of research findings within the academic community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all graphical abstracts are scientifically accurate, clear, and adhere to the guidelines of the respective journals or publications.
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date with current design trends and emerging visualization techniques within the scientific community.
• Design aesthetically pleasing illustrations, charts, graphs, and visual elements that effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to a broad audience.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality design work within the given timeframes.
• Work closely with researchers and authors to understand their research findings and translate them into compelling visual representations.
• Collaborate with the Tidbit team to understand the requirements and objectives for graphical abstract templates.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of graphical abstract templates, demonstrating your creativity and design skills.
• Create visually appealing and professional graphical abstract templates for STEM research articles that align with Tidbit's brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with the development team to integrate the graphical abstract templates into the Tidbit platform, ensuring compatibility and optimal user experience.
• Iterate and improve graphical abstract templates based on feedback from users, researchers, and the Tidbit team.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with scientific research and academic publishing processes is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and researchers.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working on multiple projects.
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into visually compelling graphical abstracts.
• A portfolio showcasing your previous design work, particularly graphical abstracts or other scientific visualisations.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and color theory.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other similar tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Graphic Designer or in a similar role, preferably designing visuals for scientific or academic content.
