Graphic Designer (Magazine) Jobs

Female Health & Fertility (www.femalehealthandfertility.com) is a digital magazine and online hub supporting women and non-binary people who are affected by gynecological and reproductive issues. Our content includes articles from medical experts, therapists, nutritionists, researchers, and our readers sharing their lived experiences. We focus on all stages of the reproductive cycle, from young adults to menopause.

This is an exciting freelance, part-time opportunity to design a new, monthly digital magazine, starting from the company’s third issue. The role is fully remote, working within a small, international team. Payment is based on a set retainer. The successful candidate will design a magazine between 60 and 100 pages per month for $400-$600 DOE. You may also be commissioned for additional work with payment on a project-by-project basis.

You will be/have:

• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Able to amend designs after feedback, with a positive attitude
• Ability to prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet client expectations
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are accurate, visually appealing, and on-brand
• A least 1 year’s experience designing magazine and/or other visual media
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Adequate computer hardware and software to work online
• Fast worker with excellent attention to detail
• Good attitude
• Have Adobe InDesign and Photoshop software and be an expert user of both!
• Own personal home workspace
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Good communication skills
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
• Competent written and spoken English
• Ideas-driven with lots of initiative!
• Ability to study design briefs and determine requirements
• Strong organization skills
• Fast internet connection
• Good adaptability
• Ability to follow a brand style guide and templates to ensure synergy across our products
