Company: We are a growing oil and gas company based in Midland, Texas, committed to providing high-quality services to our clients within the industry. Our small, dedicated team of professionals thrives on adaptability, collaboration, and a passion for innovation. We are currently seeking a versatile and skilled Laboratory Technician with knowledge of stimulation and production chemistries to join our team and support various tasks as needed.
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tasks, as well as providing support to other roles within the organization on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate is a versatile individual who can focus and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine laboratory tests, such as sample preparation, chemical analysis, and quality control checks, following established protocols.
Utilize knowledge of stimulation and production chemistries to optimize products and solve customer issues.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Record, analyze, and interpret data, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to data integrity principles.
Assist in the development and implementation of new testing methods and procedures, as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Collaborate with team members to address and resolve technical issues.
Support other roles within the organization as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn new tasks.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure efficient workflow and clear understanding of project objectives.
Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to focus on tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities within the organization.
Preferred Skills / Additional Skills
Knowledge of stimulation/production chemistry and the related performance testing involved
Experience working with analytical equipment, including but not limited to, ICP, UV-VIS, Viscometers, Auto Titrators
Background and understanding of QA/QC and QM
