Lab Technician-Research And Development

Our team is growing again! Lynden Door is adding a Lab Technician to work closely with our Research and Quality Control Manager to ensure continued process and quality control and improvement. Lynden Door is one of the leading Door Manufactures in the country focused on providing to highest quality product in the industry to our customers. The ideal Lab Technician for our team would be someone who has a passion for quality and a desire to serve our Production and Operations with their knowledge and skills. Being a team player is a must for this role as this individual will be working directly with other Lynden Door employees throughout our Production floor.

HOURS: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Assist LDI to maintain production vision of "PEOPLE, FIRST TIME QUALTIY THROUGH PROCESS IMPROVEMENT"
• Input data from testing into worksheets and review results to ensure they are accurate
• Assist LDI to improve existing products, develop new products and provide technical support for customer complaints
• Maintain laboratory equipment and lab cleanliness
• Complete testing of materials and products accurately and on-time
• Provide conclusions and recommendations based on results from testing

Core Competencies

• Quality Conscious, even when it is not the easiest path
• Self-motivated, confident, and adaptable to multiple tasks and focus areas through the day.
• Basic equipment operation and maintenance (saw, glue spreader, press, caliper, oven, tensile tester,...)
• Solutions minded when evaluating root causes of problems
• Measure and Inspect materials and products. Determine if they are within quality specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Inspect doors with defects and determine the likely root-causes of the defect and recommend solution(s) to prevent defect from reoccurring.

Core Skills & Qualifications

• BS or BA in Wood Science or Engineering (Preferred)
• Experience or Knowledge of Manufacturing (Preferred, not required)
