Research Assistant - Kraemer Lab

Position Title: Research Assistant - 10-15 hours per week Job Class: Hourly/Non-Exempt \$18.69-20/hour DOE PI/Reports To: Dr. Brian Kraemer Responsibilities: Washing lab equipment Preparation of media and other solutions Autoclaving lab equipment and solutions Pouring agar plates Maintenance of C. elegans and bacterial cultures Assisting lab members with various other tasks as needed Flexible days/hours to be arranged with lab manager, approximately 10-15 hours per week to start, with the option to increase weekly hours later as desired. Job responsibilities may expand to include more involvement with research projects if there is demonstrated interest. Previous experience working with C. elegans is required. Previous undergraduate course work in biology and chemistry is required. Applicant will ideally be enrolled in a degree program related to molecular biology or neuroscience and/or will have a strong interest in developing a career in biomedical research. The Kraemer Lab is located at the VA Hospital in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Applicants must be willing to work on site at the VA on at least three days per week.
